The UCLA Center for Language, Interaction, and Culture (CLIC) is happy to announce its first summer school to be held from August the 4th through the 24th, 2024 on the UCLA campus in the city of Los Angeles. The workshop will explore ways to analyze language use in social interaction and learn how social interactional and usage-based approaches to language can be applied to language teaching and learning.

The 2024 CLIC summer workshop is aimed at graduate students and faculty who would like to learn more about conversation analysis, interactional linguistics or a general approach to the study of talk in interaction and who would benefit from improving their academic English (e.g., improving English presentation, writing, or reading skills). This workshop is not intended for US-based students or faculty nor those with strong English proficiency or advanced CA training. If you are not sure whether this workshop is right for you, please contact the CLIC Coordinator at clic [at] ucla [dot] edu.

You can apply using the Apply Here button below or email us to clic@ucla.edu to request an application form in PDF to submit your application by email. Please contact the CLIC coordinator at clic@ucla.edu if you encounter any issues applying or processing payments.
